The European Centre for Certification and Privacy is delighted to announce that the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) has formally reviewed and approved the Interprivacy (IP-CS.1) certification scheme as adequate for accredited certification worldwide.
IAF is the international organisation of accreditation authorities. It brings together 90 accreditation bodies, 30 association members and the 6 regional accreditation groups, including European Accreditation, Inter-American Accreditation Cooperation, Asia Pacific Accreditation Cooperation, AFRAC, ARAC, and SADCA. IAF decision will facilitate the procedure for accredited certification of Interprivacy requirements across the world.
We thank IAF and its members for their trust and detailed review of our scheme. Their validation enables the European Centre for Certification and Privacy to address the need and demand for high standards in the field of privacy and data protection certification. It provides a geographically neutral certification scheme that is aligned with the highest principles in data protection.
Interprivacy has been researched and designed to address the international and regional conventions and regulations in this field, including the Convention 108+ of the Council of Europe, the Global CBPR Framework and APEC Privacy Framework, the Malabo Convention, the ASEAN Framework for Data Protection, the Standard on Personal Data of the Ibero-American Network of Data Protection Authorities, and the EU-US DPFP.
While being geographically neutral, Interprivacy requirements are also closely aligned with Europrivacy, the European Data Protection Seal under Art. 42 GDPR. It has been researched and developed with the support of the European research programme.
We thank all those who have contributed to its development, including the European research programme, TRUSTaWARE, the Council of Europe, and the data protection authorities.
The European Centre for Certification and Privacy in Luxembourg aims to bring research and innovation to the service of data protection and compliance and to support international cooperation.
