We were excited to take part in the IAPP Europe Data Protection Congress in Brussels last week!
It was a pleasure connecting with many of you at our Europrivacy booth in the exhibition area. The Europrivacy team shared insights on how Europrivacy, European Data Protection Seal, can help you check, document, and certify data processing with the GDPR.
Sébastien Ziegler, President of the International Board of Experts of Europrivacy, also shared insights during the panel, “Official Data Protection Certification – Lessons Learned and Future Evolution”, together with Giovanni Francescutti, Head of Global Sales Enablement at DNV, Alain Herrmann, Commissioner, Comission Nationale pour la Protection des Données – Luxembourg (CNPD), and Cédric Nédélec, Deputy General Counsel and DPO at PwC Luxembourg.
The session reviewed the main developments, achievements and lessons learned on official data protection certification, as well as the potential of certification as a mechanism for international data transfers. The session featured prospective views on international cooperation for certification and the chance of multi-jurisdictional recognition and interoperability beyond Europe.
